Completely Self Protected (CSP) provides for high performance distribution transformers by bundling all the protection features within the transformer itself. CSP provides the distribution transformers with the following features Protection from lightning induced surges Protection from secondary faults Protection from severe overloads Load management signal light to provide visual warning of overload conditions Protects the distribution system from a failed transformer The conventional distribution transformer requires externally mounted protection, such as a fuse cutout and arrester. The Completely Self- Protected (CSP) transformer has this protection built-in. A high-voltage fuse in series with the primary bushing, for protection in the event of an internal failure in the transformer. A Signal Light is used to Provide a visual warning of overload conditions and allows for planning a change-out of transformer if required. A Lighting arrester mounted externally on the tank. A circuit breaker on the secondary side to protect it from overloads and short circuits. This feature can be adopted up to 100 kVA rating distribution transformer and beyond externall MCCB can be provided in tamper proof box.
