G2 Steel Service Centre was set up in 2007 at Salem, for many a reasons, Firstly, to serve all the sectors of economy particularly infrastructure, power telecom. Secondly to serve the crunch in steel-decoiling service centers in and around the Salem districts-a hub of industrial activity with a proposed SEZ. And finally to cater the needs of big producers like Jindal, Salem Steel Plant, Llyod Steel, etc., who currently outsource their services. The Plant takes care of the entire process, right from loading the coil, to cutting and packaging. The entire process is completely automatic and is designed with the latest technology. The main function of the Plant is to cut HR/Stainless coils in required lengths in the thickness of 1.6-20mm. For this purpose two cut-to-length lines are installed. First cut-to length line can cut Sheets /plates for a thickness from 4mm to 12mm for a width upto 2000mm and up to 20mm for a width of 1250mm. The second cut-to-length-line to can cut sheets to a thickness of 1.6mm to 4mm for a width up to 1800mm. Packaging and bundling is done as per the needs and requirements of the customers.
