Technetium (symbol Tc, atomic number 43) is a unique chemical element known for being the first to be artificially produced. Key Facts Nature: It is a synthetic, radioactive, silvery-gray transition metal. Discovery: Discovered in 1937 by Carlo Perrier and Emilio Segr , its name is derived from the Greek word technetos, meaning "artificial." Radioactivity: It is the lightest element in the periodic table for which all isotopes are radioactive. Because of its relatively short half-life compared to the age of the Earth, any primordial technetium has long since decayed, and it is primarily found today as a byproduct of nuclear processes. Medical Use: A specific isotope, Technetium-99m (with a short 6-hour half-life), is widely used in nuclear medicine as a radioactive tracer for diagnostic imaging of various organs. Other Applications: It has been used as a corrosion inhibitor for steel (though limited by its radioactivity) and acts as a superconductor at very low temperatures.

Extension of odontogenetic infection: Osteitis, deep neck infection,maxillary sinusitis, focal infection, cysts of the jaws, ridiculer cyst, follicular cyst, anterior median cyst, Odon to genetic tumors of the jaws. UNIT - III : DENTAL HYGIENE: Care of teeth, methods of dental hygiene. Entry Qualification: Passed 10th class examination. Fee Structure: Semester 1 10,000.00 Semester 2 10,000.00
