speaker cable sibling and every part, down to the RCA jacks, are made in-house to give us what we believe is the most uncoloured, natural and dynamic sound possible from a set of interconnects. 1. Copper signal wire, silver return wire We have always liked the tonal qualities of copper above all other metals. We therefore decided to stay with copper for the signal carrying cable. However, silver is a superior conductor to copper and we feel that the signal being able to return efficiently actually improves the reproduction in terms of speed and extension and decay, while no affecting the tonality of the signal cable2. 32 GA cryogenised copper wire and 32 GA hand drawn silver wire. We have always believed in single conductors, as we do not see how splitting a signal into multiple pathways and re-connecting them at the other end can help performance in any way! Unlike loudspeaker cables, the signal current carried by interconnects is minuscule, and hence we have used very thin circular cross-section wire, instead of flat metal tape which has many many times more cross-sectional area. In interconnects, we believe it is best to keep the wire areas to the minimum possible as capacitance becomes an issue in performance as the quantity of metal increases.
