Computer Engineering

Computer engineering is a discipline that combines both Electrical engineering and Computer Science. Computer engineers usually have training in electrical engineering, software design and hardware-software integration instead of only software engineering or electrical engineering. Computer engineers are involved in many aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. Computer engineering not only focuses on how computer systems themselves work, but also how they integrate into larger picture. Computer engineers are involved in writing software and firmware for embedded micro controllers, designing VLSI chips, designing analog sensors, designing mixed signal circuit boards, and designing operating systems. Computer engineers are also suited for robotics research which relies heavily on using digital systems to control and monitor electrical systems like motors, communications and sensors. Computer engineering, one of the most rapidly growing fields today, helps us to solve modern engineering problems using design, development and application of digital and computer-based systems. Initially the students study the scientific foundations that are the basis for all engineering. Specialized electrical engineering, computer engineering and computer science courses follow. Later in the higher semesters students can participate in an actual engineering design project which is taken directly from a current industrial or commercial application.

Computer Technology has shown an unprecedented growth in all kinds of activities which can be found everywhere i,e in car engines, watches, microwave ovens, Medical instruments, telephones, video games, x-ray machines, ATM s, touching every facet of our lives. To train the students in various Hardware and Software subjects, our Institute maintains well equipped and modernized labs like Computer Centre, DBMS Lab. Networking Lab with internet facility. The course subjects are being taught followed by six months industrial training and project to enable the students to correlate their theoretical knowledge with practical exposure and problem solving. After successful completion of the course, students may secure jobs as Software Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Programmer, Network Engineer etc.

Computer Engineering

The Department of Computer Engineering was established in 2013 with an intake of 60 students. The student to teacher ratio is 15:1. To keep the students industry ready the Department organises Value Addition Program (VAP) in the various technologies like Java, .NET, Oracle, IoT, Data Analytics, Data Science, Big Data, AngulerJS, Node JS etc. The students have worked over and above curriculum of Mumbai University and developed various projects through Value Addition Programme. The computer labs are open 24x7 for the students with good internet connectivity. Besides central library, departmental library provides various reference books and Journals. Industry offers sponsorship to projects for undergraduate studies.
