Electrical Engineering is a field of engineering that deals with the technology of electricity. It involves the study and application of physics and mathematics in electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. Electrical engineers design electrical equipment and electronic products - from microchips & computers to electric power networks - and any other products that process information and transmit energy. The primary tasks of Electrical Engineers, say in designing an electronics product is circuit designing or Schematic diagram. Circuit designers have the responsibility of designing electronic circuits that make up electrical systems. Other responsibilities circuit designers have include designing different types of circuits and boards and creating signal processing filters. The minimum educational requirement is a bachelor of science in engineering, some employers require a master's of electrical engineering. Since circuit designs change frequently, this career requires a great amount of continuing education to keep up with technology updates.

The ELECTRICAL COURSE started in 1996, The department is well established with good number of post-graduates well experienced faculty member in the Dept. Departmental laboratories are spacious and adequately equipped. Department is conducting Industrial visit technical seminars from time to time to upgrade the knowledge of students and staffs. Also the department is sponsoring the staff members for higher studies and Research work. Department has good co-ordination between staff and students. Most of the branches like Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Information Technology have been emerged as a specialization from Electrical Engineering. The major thrust in this course is related to the basic principles and detailed analysis of different types of equipments and systems for generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of Electrical Energy. The course also covers the study of electronic devices and circuits involved in measurement, instrumentation, control and protection of electrical equipments and conversion systems. Concept of computer and recent applications of computer based systems in design, analysis and efficient operation of power system, maintaining quality and security also included in the course.

This course is specially cut out for the "enfants terrifics" who have at a very young age discovered their calling for engineering and planned their destiny with the IITs. This powerful programme is for those who don't wait for a timeline to work towards their IIT dream, for those enormously gifted students who want to start early on their IIT voyage so that nothing can be an obstacle between them and their vision- the esteemed IITs. The intent behind this course is to enable a smooth, steady and early learning path for young IIT aspirants. The early birds are recognized, lauded, improved and groomed to fly to dizzying heights of IITs. The three year comprehensive course is an intensive programme aimed at catering to the needs of our young prodigies who are in standard X. Under this exhaustive programme, students are given an in depth and thorough training for the JEE Advanced, JEE Main, HSC, BITSAT and the Olympiads. This course efficiently delves into the JEE Advanced and its challenges, plunges into the JEE Main's enigmatic ways and covers the HSC syllabus in a formidable course of study.

Electrical engineering is one of the core fields of engineering, so it is always evergreen in terms of scope and job prospects. Electrical Engineering is the heart of whole engineering discipline and therefore its scope will never fade even many years from now. Nowadays, we see Electronics playing an important role in the implementation and control of Electrical Machines. Keeping this fact file in mind, the course has transformed from core electrical Engineering into a Fusion of Electronics and Electrical and has been renamed as Electronics and Electrical engineering.
